This Privacy Policy explains how MeetIQ ("we", "us", "the app") handles your information. By using MeetIQ, you agree to the practices described here.
Summary
If you use MeetIQ without signing in, your meetings stay on your device.
If you sign in, your meetings — including audio recordings, transcripts, and summaries — are synced to our cloud (Google Firebase) and linked to your account so you can access them across sessions.
Audio is transcribed using Apple's Speech framework (on-device where possible; some audio may be processed by Apple's speech service).
To generate summaries and action items, the transcript text is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
Account information — your email address, and (if you use Sign in with Apple) the name you choose to share, used to create and secure your account.
Audio recordings you create. Stored on your device, and — if you are signed in — uploaded to our cloud storage so your meetings sync.
Transcripts, summaries, key points, and action items generated from your recordings. Stored on your device, and synced to our cloud when you are signed in.
Subscription & purchase status, managed through Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Diagnostic & crash data (e.g. crash reports, basic device and app information) to help us fix problems and improve reliability.
Push notification token (a device identifier) if you enable notifications.
How we use your information
To record, transcribe, and summarize your meetings.
To generate key points and action items from your transcripts.
To sync your meetings to your account and make them available across your sessions when you are signed in.
To authenticate and secure your account.
To provide and manage subscriptions and premium features.
To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve the app.
To send you service-related notifications (if you enable them).
Third-party services
MeetIQ relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Apple — speech recognition (on-device and, as needed, Apple's speech service), Sign in with Apple, and App Store / in-app purchases.
Anthropic (Claude API) — processes your transcript text to generate summaries and action items.
Google Firebase — account authentication, cloud storage and database (for syncing your audio, transcripts, and summaries), crash reporting, and push notifications.
RevenueCat — subscription management.
Data storage and retention
If you are not signed in, your recordings, transcripts, and notes remain on your device until you delete them. If you are signed in, this content is also stored in our cloud (Google Firebase), linked to your account. Deleting a meeting removes it from your device and from our cloud. Deleting your account removes your synced data. Transcript text sent to our AI provider for summarization is processed to return a result and is subject to that provider's retention practices.
Your choices and rights
Use without an account: You can use MeetIQ without signing in to keep your data on your device only.
Permissions: You can revoke microphone or speech recognition access anytime in Settings → MeetIQ.
Deletion: You can delete individual meetings (removing them from your device and, if synced, from our cloud), or remove all local data by deleting the app.
Account deletion & data export: You can request deletion or export of your account data from within the app or by contacting us.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Network requests are made over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and cloud data is stored using Google Firebase's security infrastructure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
MeetIQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
